Community development 



Three examples of Renewal Associates' community development work are
given below.






Community survey. In Knowsley residents of an estate of 1,000 homes
suffering severe problems wanted a 100% household survey to give them a
cast iron case in demanding regeneration action. Too expensive to do
commercially, Renewal Associates recommended that a team of eight locals
were trained by a leading market research organisation to undertake the survey
and be subsequently employed as market researchers.

Young Persons Forum. An estate in Liverpool had difficulties with some young
people who felt excluded. By setting up the means for the young people to
communicate with the local regeneration partnership young people were engaged
in the regeneration process. 

Women's Network. In Moss Side and Hulme, in Manchester, Renewal Associates
facilitated the establishment of a women's training and employment forum which
grew in capacity to become the Moss Side and Hulme Women's Action Forum
providing a platform for greater social and economic engagement.
